The coronavirus has struck Peru a terrible blow. The country is just beginning to emerge from a severe lock-down. At the Mary Bloom Center we are delivering food and other supplies to the families we serve. (See the article and pictures below). This past week we distributed school supplies to small groups of the students in our tutoring program: Veronica receiving school supplies

Dear Friend of Mary Bloom
Easter greetings! Three weeks ago (March 27) I sent you an email (see below) thanking you and asking your help for our children in Peru. The coronavirus pandemic has affected them since many of their families make a living as street vendors and other occupations shut down by this crisis. Moreover, we have not been able to conduct the Bob Lindenau Program which, in addition to tutoring, provides a warm meal to our children. Thanks to your support we were able to deliver food packages to their homes. The attached pictures tell the story:
Some kind donors informed that in my previous email the donation link did not work. To make a donation pleae click on the “Donate to Mary Bloom Center” button (above). If you have any difficulty, please let me know. With gratitude for your prayerful solidarity during this time. Fr. Phil Bloom Paragraph. Haz clic aquí para editar. March 27, 2020
Dear Friend of Mary Bloom I have wanted to communicate with you during this time of crisis: First, that you are in my prayers - for those staying at home to prevent the spread of coronavirus and for those in essential jobs taking care of the rest of us. Second, to thank you for your support for Mary Bloom, especially those who use Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT). This steady support enables the Mary Bloom Center to continue operations in a difficult time. Third, if you are able, consider an additional gift. This world-wide crisis has impacted the most vulnerable. At the Mary Bloom Center we serve families and children who are already on the margins. You can send a check to Mary Bloom Center c/o St. Mary of the Valley Parish, Box 279, Monroe, WA 98272 or make an electronic donation using the button below Fourth, this crisis makes planning difficult - for example, whether we can have a Mary Bloom Center Dinner on May 16. When times are better I do want to gather friends of Mary Bloom and give you are heart-felt hug. Fr. Phil Bloom P.S. Many of you know I fractured my leg on January 18 as I was returning from Peru. It was a mixed blessing as it restricted me to rectory, office and church as coronavirus spread in Snohomish County. I have an appointment with my doctor - by phone - on Wednesday. I'm looking forward to taking walks again. Serving the Least of These
